The commitments set out in the Social Housing White Paper will bring performance transparency to the forefront of how social landlords operate.
In the last year more than 13,000 residents and 300 landlords have told us about the importance of measuring feedback effectively and acting on it. This overwhelming response to HouseMark’s STAR review means there can be no doubt that the sector will be welcoming of measures that get to the heart of what matters most to residents and ensure landlord accountability.
As one of the UK’s housing sectors largest membership organisations, our members have voiced concerns about like-for-like comparisons and contextualising performance. More than 400 providers already use HouseMark’s data services to provide fair and trusted comparisons, based on their own organisational and external context, to benchmark performance and prioritise action. Together, we are already presenting this data to residents and other stakeholders.
We know that this year has signalled many changes and we are here to make sure that we continue to provide the sector with on-time insight that helps them measure impact and respond for the future. We will continue to work closely with the Regulator of Social Housing, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and others to ensure we can shape an approach that works best for our members and their residents.
