Housemark is excited to launch our brand‑new Customer Forums – an evolution of our long‑standing Specialist Clubs, redesigned to give the social housing community a more dynamic, connected and value‑driven experience.
Over the past year, pressure across the sector has intensified. Providers are navigating rising regulatory scrutiny, renewed expectations around transparency, strengthened requirements for tenant voice under the Regulator of Social Housing’s consumer standards, and an operating environment where data, accountability and trust matter more than ever. Our Forums have been created in direct response to this landscape, bringing together the people doing the work, facing the challenges, and driving improvement every day.
With this shift, we’ve built something more collaborative, more supportive, and more relevant to what organisations need right now.
What’s new? A more connected, more continuous learning community
Our previous Clubs have now become Customer Forums, each aligned to a specialist theme and built around regular participation, community insight, and practical problem‑solving.
Here’s how the Forums go further than before:
✔ A continuous peer network, not just four meetings a year
Alongside quarterly 90‑minute online sessions, every Forum now includes:
- A dedicated WhatsApp group
- A Teams channel
These spaces keep members connected between meetings, enabling rapid knowledge‑sharing, peer support, and real‑time problem‑solving. This always‑on community is one of the biggest evolutions from the previous Club model.
✔ Organisation‑wide membership
Membership now covers your entire organisation, not just individual delegates.
That means colleagues across teams—including customer, data, asset, neighbourhood, safety, and operational roles—can join the meetings and benefit from the collective insight.
This is a major shift designed to help organisations embed learning, build internal consistency, and ensure knowledge doesn’t sit with just one person.
✔ Practical, hands‑on sessions
Every meeting focuses on real operational challenges, collaborative problem‑solving, and sharing proven practice. Forum members shape the agenda throughout the year, ensuring discussions are relevant, applied, and future‑focused.
Why now? Meeting the moment for the housing sector
The Forums arrive at a critical time for the sector, with themes across our programme reflecting current priorities and regulatory expectations.
For example, the Resident Engagement and Satisfaction Forum supports landlords navigating:
- The enhanced Tenant Satisfaction Measures
- Greater expectations on tenant voice in governance and service design
- Digital transparency and tackling misinformation
- Scrutiny around complaints handling, inclusion and cultural competence
Elsewhere, the Voids, Tenancy, Neighbourhood & Community, and Building Safety & Quality Forums each address key organisational pressures—from turnaround times and digital workflows to safeguarding, anti‑social behaviour, and the push for safer, better‑quality homes.
These are spaces created by the sector, for the sector—bringing together the insight, innovation and lived operational experience needed to respond to a fast‑changing environment.
