Get to know Nicola Askham

Nicola is one of the most sought-after data and analytics practitioners in 2022 and is listed in the dataIQ 100 most influential people in data. Known as The Data Governance Coach, she helps organisations understand and manage their data better, reducing costs and inefficiencies.

Nicola provides coaching, consulting and training courses to empower teams to accelerate data governance and to give people the skills to make sure that data is used to solve problems and make better informed decisions. She has helped many companies with their data governance initiatives, including Lloyds TSB, Thomson Reuters, The Ministry of Defence, Marks & Spencer, Direct Line Group and Aspen Insurance.

Nicola has developed a powerful methodology for implementing data governance based on over 17 years of experience and research into best practices.

She is a Director and Committee Member of DAMA UK, sits on the expert panel of, and regularly writes and presents internationally on data governance best practice. She is also very proud to be part of a volunteer committee who want to mobilise the data and tech communities to help raise funds to help the people of Ukraine Data and Tech Aid (D.A.T.A).
